Powagroup Pillows are compressive products made of quality fire retardant cloth envelopes enclosing a granulated high temperature, intumescent material. The pillows are used to maintain the fire resistance of building elements where openings for services are located. When exposed to fire the intumescent material swells so that the pillows remain in place and form a sealed fire barrier by charring and creating a solid mass.
They are typically installed around cables and non-combustible pipes which may need to be regularly altered. Note that additional installation materials may be required to meet compliance.
Powagroup Pillows have been successfully tested and assessed by independent laboratories to meet the requirements of AS 1530: Part 4 and BS 476: Part 20 for fire ratings up to 120 minutes FRL, subject to installation compliance. For FRL above 120 minutes, please consult Powagroup.
